矿业工作者孟远（来喜 饰）在上山考察时意外穿越到古代，结识了押送官银的李晓雨（熊玉婷 饰）、李晓峰兄妹，被迫卷入官银被劫案。在协助调查的过程中，孟远见百姓因自然灾害流离失所，便带领村民发展种植业和第三产业，并把现代社会国家的乡村振新经验倾囊相授。孟远教村民制作肥皂、修建沼气池，带领赵颖姐弟经营农家乐脱贫致富。屡屡建功后，孟远被大司农桑羊推荐给皇帝，得到了朝廷的赏识和重用。但以江廷尉为首的恶人组织也将目光投向了孟远......
