故事发生在一间女子监狱之中。施菲菲（李翠云 饰）、秋子（马翎雁 饰）、阿四（赵娜娜 饰）和桃花（廖东妍 饰）等人都是被关押在此处的囚犯。这一天，她们迎来了一位新狱友丁静儿（赵薇 饰），除了施菲菲外，所有人都对初来乍到的丁静儿充满了敌意。 某天，施菲菲的男友郑英儿（郭育明 饰）将一个婴儿放在了监狱门口，他为了出国而选择了抛弃这个可怜的孩子。无奈之下，分队长收留了这个孩子。施菲菲得知郑英儿在国外和别人结了婚，绝望之中吞下农药企图自杀。所幸得到了丁静儿的救助，才保住了性命。这一场意外也让施菲菲感受到了生命的可贵，她决定挺直了腰杆，坚强的活下去。
