缘山（夏添 饰）是秦岭深处的一名铁路巡轨员，他的工作地点离人迹罕至，与其他巡轨员很少有交集。他的家是一间红泥屋，静静地坐落在铁轨旁。每天，缘山都在这片荒凉的土地上用脚步丈量着延伸向远方的铁路，迎着晨曦、送走夕阳，享受着那份宁静与简朴。然而，缘山心中却充满了对父亲的怨恨。每次父亲前来看望他，虽然带来了他小时候最爱吃的食物，但他从不与父亲交流一句话，只是默默地接受着父亲的关怀。 有一天，当父亲刚刚离去，缘山在巡轨途中发现了一个躲避雨水的姑娘蜷缩在涵洞里。他的心中涌起一股怜悯之情，于是他将姑娘带回了自己的红泥屋。为了让姑娘感到舒适，他为她打来了清水，亲自为她洗去泥土，找出自己的干衣服让她更衣。当天黑下来时，缘山没有犹豫，决定让姑娘在自己的屋里过夜，以避免她受到风雨的侵袭。在这个宁静的夜晚，姑娘在红泥屋里得到了温暖和安慰，而缘山也感受到了一种被理解与关心的满...
