李丽（余男 饰）在一间濒临倒闭的纺织工厂工作，日日过着重复而平静的生活，工作、照顾丈夫和孩子几乎成了她生活的全部。突然一日，李丽被查出患有绝症，余下的生命变得弥足珍贵，李丽决定去北京寻找自己的初恋男友赵鲁寒，了却自己最后的心结。两人终于在北京见面，李丽问赵鲁寒为何当年从西安调往北京后就杳无音信，而自己连续两年寄出的长信也始终没有回复。赵鲁寒听后十分震惊，表示自己一封信也没收到过，也因此结婚。李丽回到了西安，发现丈夫正四处筹钱给她治病，李丽作出了最后的选择…… 电影《纺织姑娘》获得第33届加拿大蒙特利尔国际电影节“评审团大奖”及“全球专业影评人大奖”。
