电影《秀水河子歼灭战》通过再现历 史的纪实手法，讲述了1945年抗战胜利 后，国民党政府在美国的援助下，向东北 大举运兵，企图消灭中共领导的人民革命 力量，独占东北。为打破国民党的企图， 中共中央依据“向北发展，向南防御”的战 略方针，决定从关内各解放区抽调一批部 队和干部挺进东北，会同东北原有的配合 苏军作战的东北民主联军等部队执行发展 东北的战略任务，国共双方展开了争夺 战。电影反映的就是1946年2月东北民主 联军在辽宁省法库县秀水河子进行的歼灭 战。
