北宋末年，帝王昏庸，奸臣当道。水泊梁山的势力不断壮大，朝廷派出双鞭呼延灼征讨梁山，其连环马阵令好汉吃够苦头，多亏汤隆举荐、鼓上蚤时迁赚来京师金枪班教头金枪将徐宁，用其独门的金枪法、钩镰枪大破连环马。此后徐宁在汤隆的陪同下急急下山迎接亲眷，怎奈朝廷早已得知消息。山雨欲来风满楼，徐家娘子令徒弟们送走幼子，带着对丈夫的挂念迎来倾覆的厄运。官家走狗王太尉及其义子姜勃假公济私，觊觎徐家的祖传宝贝雁翎圈金甲，为此对徐娘子进行惨无人道的折磨。王太尉企图利用徐子作为得到金甲的筹码，而徐宁则为救出妻儿竭尽全力…… 本片根据四大名著之一《水浒传》中的故事改编。
