单纯漂亮的女演员于晶（谭小燕 饰）爱上了内心冷漠无情的石岜（雷汉 饰），而在石岜最低落和走投无路之时，却是他的初恋女友刘华玲对他伸出的援助之手。之后，于晶终于用自己的包容和温柔打开了石岜的心扉，两人历尽万难走到了一起，石岜却在此时惹上了敲诈团伙，最终被废了一条腿，后半生都要拄着拐杖过活。 石岜的生活就此走上了下坡路，无论是生活还是事业都落魄的一塌糊涂。婚后，为了维持家计，于晶不得不在酒吧打工伴舞，当她疲惫不堪的收工回家时，看到的却是石岜浑浑噩噩不成人形，于晶绝望了。石岜无法走出抑郁的深渊，最终选择了自杀，可此时于晶的腹中，已经怀上了他的孩子。
