邵氏經典黃梅調鉅片，由凌波主唱的插曲《郊道》至今仍膾炙人口。故事講述，書生林肇德（凌波）自小與富翁王春（尤光照）之女千金（秦萍）訂親，惟王春鄙肇德落魄，迫其退婚；千金不值乃父所為，囑肇德發奮讀書，並叫其三更來取黃金百兩，以作赴考盤纏。肇德晚上依約前往，卻見婢女雪春（李菁）滿身鮮血伏屍後花園，登時嚇得魂飛魄散，更不慎留下一血手印於門上……
