董得起，绰号“董古董”开了一家“梦古斋”古玩店，但他对古玩玉器的鉴识却一知半解。他花高价收购的“慈禧棺盖”、“袁大头”和号称金沙遗址出土的“玉璋”，都被古玩鉴赏家确认是假货，诅咒发誓不再做古董生意。一个乞丐婆婆向他乞讨，他惊奇地发现婆婆手中的土巴碗竟然是宋代钧窑莲花碗，毫不犹豫买下发了大财。他听说玉石生意赚钱，在瑞丽买下一大块石头，谁知又上当受骗。两美国古生物学家发现石头上有珍稀的“三叶虫”古化石，用五万美金买走了那块没解出玉来的石头，董古董绝处逢生。汶川大地震摔坏了店里的古玩玉器，他又成了穷光蛋，而在一只大花瓶里，发现了二十万元人民币和一些美金，董古董知道花瓶的来历，明白这是一笔不义之财，当即把这笔钱捐赠给了灾区，此举感动所有商家，大家踊跃捐款捐物，古玩市场上演了感人的画面。
