日本青年时夫暂时抛开刻板的工作，独自来到香港，企图在美食与美色中找出人生的真谛。直至遇上天真俏皮的中学生慧后，才真正找到自己所希望了解的东西，两人虽碍于言语隔膜，却发展出一段纯真的友情。慧的父母带其兄移居加拿大，留下慧与祖母同住，在与慧的祖母的相处中，时夫感受到了来自于老一辈人对于故土的理解，深受启发的他最终回到了故乡。
