这部剧 将大量笔墨放在普通人物身上。在阳 明堡战斗中，769团营长赵崇德积极 请战，安排突击队从东西两侧秘密进 入机场，但是，在接近飞机约30米时 被敌哨兵发觉，赵崇德当机立断，命 令发起攻击，由于时间紧迫，他和战 友们用生命的代价将手榴投向敌人， 炸毁敌人机场，堵断了敌人的支援赢 得了最终的胜利。此外，还有三战三 捷、粉碎“九路围攻”、上党战役、邯 郸战役等场面；颂扬了战士们与人民 群众在抗战中的顽强奋斗和勇于牺牲 精神。全剧始终贯穿着军民团结抗 日、共同奋斗，建立起相濡以沫、患 难与共的血肉联系和鱼水深情。生动 刻画了129师将士们在战火中熔炼出 的历久弥坚的战友情。
