九十年代初期，随着改革开放深入，信息产业发展掀开新的一页。燕京大学计算机研究所的两个青年萧闯（吴磊 饰）与裴庆华（侯明昊 饰）从偷做汉卡入行，被主任谭启章选中，跻身电脑销售的大潮。以二人为首的众研究员瞅准时机，搭上政策春风，从代理国外电脑做起，向自主研发过渡，从草根蜕变成一代商业奇才的故事，同时记载了20世纪末中国快速发展的那段历史。
