故事发生在20世纪30年代，战火纷飞的华夏大地一片焦土。放眼望去硝烟弥漫，民不聊生。在西北出生的春桃（马雅舒 饰）在未出嫁前便经历了重大的人生变革，未婚夫大龙（曹卫宇 饰）遭遇土匪生死未卜，她几经辗转流离甚至沦落到妓院。在得到恶霸军阀陶正远（林栋甫 饰）的欢心后，春桃暂时从泥坑中逃脱，继而重逢与之有过一段恋情的大龙的弟弟二虎（贾乃亮 饰）。已成为共产党员的二虎和春桃对面相逢却无法相认，有情人近在咫尺天各一方。在时代的洪流中，弱女子春桃完全无法主宰自己的命运，她随波逐流，饱受欺凌，却也竭尽全力保有一份追寻真爱的勇气。 历史终将印证一个善良女子奋力求生的传奇……
