在古老的香都王国，意大利旅行家马可-波罗告别可汗，准备返回自己的家乡。为维护友谊，可汗欲将充满神奇力量的魔法金币送给他。不料，对王位垂涎已久的大臣福林却寻机偷走金币，随后便隐匿无踪。可汗得知真相后，将自己随身携带的金币一分为二，送给老马可。凭借这半枚金币，他们的后人可以穿梭时空。一旦两家人相聚，金币便可重获魔力。 时光飞逝，老马可的后裔小马可已经长成英俊青年。他佩戴祖传的半枚金币，历尽艰难险阻，来到香都王国。在海鸥瑞杰等朋友的帮助下，小马可终于揭开金币之谜，并从福林手中夺回了被窃走的金币，救出了可爱的荷花公主。但福林却再次出现，派出秃鹫赖古再次抢走了荷花公主手中的金币。为了伸张正义，惩处恶魔，小马可又踏上了征程……
