一把大刀沾尽血腥无数刀客沦为钦犯问世间谁是英雄.无限电视电影“大刀王五”，剧情紧凑，武打动作出色。清末年间，有一捕快王五（郑浩南），专替朝廷缉拿钦犯归案，由于擅用一把大刀，人称”大刀王五“。当时，御史安晓仁直言上疏，弹劝太监李连英干预朝政，触怒慈禧，命王五剿杀安史全家，王五为免杀错忠良，竟公然抗命，并且招致灭门之祸。王五之妻（蓝洁英）亦修遭杀害，从此王五携同幼子流浪天涯，闯荡江湖，朝廷派出大内都统萨多（尹杨明）追杀父子，斩草除根。在流浪途中，王五遇到留洋回来的女医师程心兰（翁杏兰），两人曾共患难，兰更因而倾慕五，及后兰得知五竟是自己的杀父仇人，陷于情义两难的局面。另一方面，王五与萨多交手数次，两人虽惺惺相惜，然而命运作弄，最终仍不能避免一场生死决战……
