1800年前，花生星球遭遇可怕的干旱。 传说，一个叫昆塔的巴拉布人，坚信世界不会就此消亡，但是没有人相信他⋯于是昆塔决定独自去寻找答案，终于在沙漠里找到了一株垂死的仙人掌，为了让仙人掌活下来，昆塔把自己的生命能量全部耗尽，巴拉布城获得了新生。从那时起巴拉布人就将仙人掌命名为昆塔，以此纪念这位英雄，并预言，当巴拉布城再需要一位英雄的时候，昆塔就会回来。 多年后，干旱果然再次降临，这次，一个名叫“菠菜”的孩子听到了来自昆塔的召唤，面对嘲笑和误解，他没有放弃，和死党奶泡泡一起踏上了成为“英雄”的旅途......
