母亲去世之后，少女忆梅（汪玲 饰）沦为了孤儿。母亲临死之前，将忆梅托付给了远在台北的罗教授（朱牧 饰），就这样，忆梅在朱教授的家里开始了寄人篱下的生活。徐中枏（杨群 饰）是朱教授家里的家庭教师，他爱上了坚强的忆梅，与此同时，罗教授的儿子罗皓皓（刘维斌 饰）也喜欢上了忆梅，忆梅陷入了一段三角恋情之中不知该如何选择。 罗教授的妻子罗太太（李湄 饰）非常的讨厌忆梅，常常对她恶语相向，从来就没有过好脸色。一次偶然之中，忆梅终于得知了其中的缘由，原来，罗教授竟然就是自己的亲生父亲。
