John Dahl · Forensic doctor David (Ray Liotta) found the same clues as when his wife was murdered at the investigation site. David decided to investigate, but no breakthrough was made. Until he met Martha (Linda Fiorentino), a professor of neurology, who was researching a special formula that could transplant the memory of mice. Martha's research aroused David's interest, and he decided to try to inject the memory of the deceased into his body to understand the murder and help find the real culprit. During the experiment, the suspect was shot dead during a confrontation with the police, leaving David with his only clue. In order to continue the investigation, he decided to borrow the memory of the deceased suspect, hoping to find the next clue. However, in the process, David unexpectedly discovered a huge lie involving himself. His investigation gradually reveals an intricate conspiracy involving his own life and origins.
