百年前，玉须仙师封印八州异兽，西南神木化为枯木（化作灵源）。大赵王朝四十年，往生邪教顾念彤欲破仙师封印，炼祭神木化作树妖，荼毒生灵。为此，先帝特诏镇魔司隐监唐凌风等人，挥师西南平定妖邪。而降服树妖需要公输家所创机关巨兽，驱动巨兽的办法则是《鲁班全书》中记载的“灵源秘术”，这也因此牵连出十几年前唐家与公输家、镇魔司的血仇恩怨，数十年前，公输家为求《鲁班全书》屠尽唐家满门，侥幸逃生年仅八岁的唐凌风被镇魔司统领张谦带回镇魔司抚养，唐凌峰在此结识了陆隐、陆瞳兄妹，三人亲若兄妹，并一同通过严格考核，成为隐监成员，而随着唐凌风身世揭开，唐凌峰与陆隐、陆瞳兄妹关系发生变化，三人也悄然落入公输家的阴谋中。
