道士乐鳌与夏秋追寻煞灵至陆府，看到陆老中邪丧失心智，乐鳌替天行道斩杀了陆老。其女陆天岐从此对乐鳌怀恨在心。 栗城副帅潘宇梁得知乐鳌法力，请其出山降服煞灵，途中遇到前来复仇的陆天岐，可惜陆天岐武艺不精，被夏秋制服后便被副帅关押起来。继续赶路的途中乐鳌与夏秋得知，此次中邪之人正是军队大帅，乐鳌斩除煞灵，大帅亦死，潘宇梁顺势成为统帅。但统领栗城打仗的潘帅节节败退。看到栗城日渐荒废、百姓不得安宁，乐鳌心生愧疚。 煞灵找到失落的潘帅，附身于他，利用陆天岐的仇恨，让陆天岐诱骗出乐鳌的夜行医手札。陆天岐在诱骗乐鳌的过程中发现乐鳌内心的善良，乐鳌也逐渐顿悟手札的奥义，成功进入永夜岛。陆天岐后悔诱骗乐鳌为时已晚，潘宇梁挟持道观中人逼迫乐鳌交出手札，释放煞灵。 最终，潘宇梁的本体战胜煞灵，乐鳌夏秋陆天岐三人合力，将煞灵斩死，栗城恢复了安宁。
