南宋建炎年间，少主即位，国师专权。是时镇世封印被解，各路妖魔纵横世间，遂令杭州城人心惶惶。适值此时，玄光寺的不通和尚（郑恺 饰）和女降魔师菁菁（张雨绮 饰）在一次降魔行动中相遇。一千年前，不通和菁菁是天界的金童玉女，两人因违犯天条相恋而被贬下凡间，被罚轮回十世而不得说一句话。下凡之前，菁菁决意不饮忘情水，所以积累了千年的记忆，她时刻渴望重逢金童，再续前缘。 另一方面，当年被金童和佛祖所降伏的毒龙重现世间，他正阴谋加害当今皇帝，篡夺社稷。金童玉女重逢之路还有无数的磨难，他们的缘分今生能否有一个圆满结局？
