从很小的时候起，热爱表演的沈默（沈腾 饰）就将成为一名演员当做是自己的唯一理想，然而，年纪轻轻的他却被诊断出身患绝症，时日无多。人生尚未开始就即将结束，这一噩耗令平日里大大咧咧的沈默开始认真的思考起了人生的意义，并且决定奉献出自己仅剩的时间，为社会做一些实事。 沈默和好兄弟杜宇（杜晓宇 饰）联手，乔装打扮混入了当地的一个犯罪团伙之中，想要获取他们的犯罪证据，然而，杜宇却偏偏喜欢上了黑帮老大龙哥（林雪 饰）的情人小薇（王子子 饰），气得龙哥派出了冷酷杀手，要将杜宇和小薇除之而后快。与此同时，沈默结识了单纯善良的女主播马晓丽（马丽 饰），两人亦被卷入了杜宇制造的风波之中。
