三十年代，潮剧在逐渐的衰落。虽然依旧有喜爱潮剧的人在坚守这份传承和文化，但在那个动荡时期的冲击下，潮剧如同被潮水蹂躏的礁石，时隐时现。 林尽在年幼时，母亲迫于生计，将其卖到潮剧班成为童龄演员。这一刻林尽无疑是最悲惨的，父母的抛弃，练功的艰苦，但林尽从一开始的不喜欢到后来渐渐地爱上潮剧。随着林尽的技艺越发成熟，他的天赋也随着显露。没几年的时间，林尽与狗散这对搭档逐渐走红。正当林尽的人生开始花团锦簇的时候，人生再次和他开了玩笑，林尽，失声了……
