Tony Takitani

The story took place during the Second World War. In order to escape the war, Shozaburo Takitani (played by Kazunari Ogata) went to China and made a living by playing trombone in a nightclub. Long-term loneliness and depression distorted Shozaburo's character, and he began to become taciturn. After the war, Shozaburo returned to his hometown, got married and started a family. His wife's pregnancy brought long-lost happiness to Shozaburo. What he didn't expect was that the birth of his son Tony (played by Hidetoshi Nishijima) was accompanied by the death of his wife. As time went by, Tony grew up slowly. He had already become accustomed to his gloomy and indifferent father and his lonely and helpless childhood. After that, Tony was admitted to the University of Fine Arts and began to devote his energy and time to artistic creation. Tony, who was quite talented in art, soon made great achievements, which also changed the trajectory of Tony's life.
