Highly Suspicious

This film is adapted from the 1956 film of the same name by the German expressionist film master Fritz Lang. Television reporter CJ Nicholas (Jesse Metcalfe) and his friend Cauley Finlay (Joel Moore) work together on the TV station's "Investigative Reporting" column. While reporting on a murder case, CJ met Ella (Amber Tamblyn), an assistant prosecutor in the District Attorney's Office, and based on the interrogation video data provided by her, she suspected that her boss, District Attorney Martin Hunter (Michael Douglas) relied on forging DNA evidence to win the prosecution and pave the way for running for governor. With no way to investigate, CJ decided to work with Cowley to implement a seamless plan, deliberately purchasing various physical evidence to prove that he was the biggest suspect in the murder of a prostitute. During the trial, Cawley was supposed to present the video taken by the two to prove that CJ was not the murderer, but he died in a car accident on the way to court.
