Black Rain

New York detective Nick (Michael Douglas) is a rebellious divorced man who was recently investigated by the disciplinary department for suspicion of dereliction of duty. One day, Nick and his partner Vincent (played by Andy Garcia) stumbled into a gang fight involving Japanese gangsters in a restaurant. Although the two captured the main culprit Sato (played by Yusaku Matsuda), the mysterious block that Sato grabbed was missing. Japan requested Sato's extradition, so Nick and Vincent had to escort Sato to Osaka. Unexpectedly, at the airport, Nick mistakenly handed Sato over to a disguised gangster. Unwilling to lose the prisoner, Nick and Vincent continue to investigate the Sato case as observers with the assistance of Japanese assistant and translator Masahiro Matsumoto (played by Takakura Ken). They discover that Sato is having a conflict with the big boss Sugai in order to manufacture counterfeit banknotes. Soon, Vincent was killed by Sato's gang, and Nick's situation became increasingly difficult, but he was determined to catch the murderer in the dark and strange city...
