Butcher's Crossing

The film is adapted from the novel of the same name written by John Williams. It tells the story of Andrews, a young man who dropped out of Harvard in 1873. Influenced by the natural concepts of Emerson and Thoreau, he came to Butcher's Crossing with the urge to find beauty, hope and vitality, and followed hunter Miller (played by Cage) and two others (Schneider the skinner and Charlie Hogg, who worked with the camp) into the Colorado mountains to hunt bison. Each of them embarked on this uncertain journey with different purposes and ideas. They went through many difficulties and lost one man's life before they returned to Butcher's Crossing, but earth-shaking changes had taken place here.
