The story takes place around the 1940s, when the Anti-Japanese War in China was going through the most difficult and painful moment. One hundred thousand Japanese troops rushed to Hubei in an attempt to annihilate the effective strength of the Chinese army. Zhao Guowu (played by Qidao), captain and battalion commander of the 149th Regiment of the Sichuan Army, was ordered to block the fierce Japanese offensive.
