Adopted daughter

This is a past event that happened in the ancient city of Xi'an in the early 1990s. In that hot summer, the girl Meizi (played by Zhang Di) never imagined that such a big change would occur in her family and her life. A car accident lets Meizi know the identity of her adopted daughter. She needs money for medical treatment and schooling. Her adoptive father Mei Xiaoquan (played by Du Yuan) walks into a trap set by others in order to make money. Liu Fang (played by Xie Zibin), a classmate who has always hated Meizi, followed her family's arrangements and secretly obtained the university admission notice in Meizi's name. The anxious waiting for news from the university, as well as the relationship with Xiangyang that was often misunderstood and disturbed, made Meizi miserable for a time. Due to a trick of fate, she failed to get together with her sweetheart in the end. She accepted Deng Jiangping's pursuit, but her married life was far from as beautiful as love. What is it that wants to impose all the suffering on this thin woman...
