The Girl in the Shell: Compressed

In a future world where technology is highly developed, the prosperous and decadent city of Marduk is living in a state of drunkenness and debauchery. Rune Barot (voiced by Hayashihara Emi), a beautiful and pampered girl who is favored by thousands of people, has received everything from the casino operator Sher (voiced by Nakai Kazuya), but she cannot restrain her desire to explore her true identity. Her thoughts seemed to offend the domineering Sher, which led to her death. At a critical moment, Barot was rescued by the criminal investigator Dr. Ufkok (voiced by Sapien Yashima), and under the protection and permission of Marduk Emergency Decree 09, he possessed special abilities prohibited by law. Ufkok hopes to use the girl's hands to expose a series of crimes in Sher. For her, this is nothing less than a dangerous journey... This film is adapted from Oki Fangding's science fiction novel and is the first part in the "Girl in the Shell" trilogy (the other two parts are "Burning" and "Exhaust").
