Phantom of the Open

Maurice Flitcroft (Rylance) is a staunch optimist, a 46-year-old crane driver and former comedy stunt diver who accidentally qualified for the 1976 British Open Championship. He had never played a round of golf in his life and ended up scoring the lowest score of 121 points and was suspended by the organizing committee. Morris didn't stop there, playing a game of cat and mouse to qualify multiple times, disguised under increasingly comical pseudonyms. His actions caused headaches for the authorities and he became a folk hero, the world's bravest and most popular sports underdog.
