Where Are We Going

On the bumpy roadside, a small group of women is heading towards the village cemetery. They walked very solemnly, as if they were participating in some ceremony. The ones walking at the front were Takla, Emel, Yvonne, Aifaf and Said. They held photos of their beloved men and walked under the scorching sun at noon. The men in the photos all died in a meaningless war, leaving only their families to live a hard life in the country. Some women wore veils and some carried wooden crosses. They were dressed in black clothes. Although they came from different regions, different families, and had different beliefs, their common emotion along the way was sadness. Arriving at the entrance of the cemetery, a dramatic scene occurred: the women took the initiative to divide into two piles, one group of Muslims and the other group of Christians. In this country that has been ravaged by war for many years, this small group of women raised the banner of anti-war and took action against the war. From the outside to the inside, they are all experiencing baptism. Fortunately, their faith was tested by doubt, religion, and opposition, and their friendship survived.
