Cry Freedom

Denzel Washington plays a witty, gentle, kind and brave leader of the South African black civil rights liberation movement - Steven Biko (Steven Biko) in the film, who was killed by security police in prison in 1977. Kevin Kline plays his white journalist friend Donald Woods (Donald) Woods, he risked his life and took his family to escape from his native South Africa so that he could tell the world about the deeds of Biko, a freedom fighter. Denzel Washington was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor that year for this film.
