Hideko the Conductor

In the remote mountain village of Kofu, Japan, an old bus is driving on a quiet country road. The driver Sonoda (played by Fujiwara Sota) and the beautiful female conductor Aju (played by Hideko Takamine) get up early and work hard every day to welcome customers who are sent to various places. Despite a lot of hard work, the income has always been meager and it is difficult to see improvement. Due to the need to make a living, the company took a unique approach and decided to create a tourist route specifically for tourists from all over the world. Sonoda and Aju were touched by this idea, and they began to make preparations. It happened that Igawa (Natsukawa Daijiro), a self-proclaimed novelist, came here to visit local attractions, so they asked Ikawa to write a speech for the tour... This film is adapted from the short story "おこまさん" by Ibushi Toutuji. It is the first collaboration between director Naruse Mikio and actress Takamine Hideko.
