The story takes place in Eastern Europe in 1835, where the gendarme Constantine (Teodor Corban) ) and his son Ivonita (played by Mihai Comanoiu) are hunting down the slave Kafe (played by Toma Cuzin) in the vast desert, because this slave has an impure relationship with his employer's wife. Although they are father and son, Constantine and Ivonita have completely different personalities. The former is enthusiastic and optimistic, always full of energy, while the latter is silent and introverted, thinking about life all the time. Along the way, the father and son met a variety of people with different skin colors and different beliefs. Although they were both human beings, they had very intense ideological collisions with each other. These people greatly shocked Ivonita's worldview and allowed him to grow along the way.
