Kim, who came to Columbus from Seoul because his father was in a coma, happened to meet local girl Kathy. The two started a tour of the city's buildings, confiding their anxieties and longings to each other, gradually penetrating the cold buildings and opening up the emotional cracks. Faced with the changing identities of residents and tourists, and the coming and going of life and death, they, like objects in space, learn to move and relocate themselves again in new relationships. The first feature film by video essayist Kogonada vividly demonstrates the sensitivity of his lens language. The symmetrical and constant picture structure is like a modernist architecture, flowing with a low-limit but potential plot, alluding to the essence of architectural space, which is actually the place where people's lives and emotions sprout.
