Butcher Boy

Francis (Eamonn Owens) ) lives in an unfortunate family. Her father is an alcoholic, and whenever she gets drunk, she will punch and kick her cowardly and mentally unstable mother. Joey is Francis' only friend, and the two often enjoy teasing Philip (Andrew Fullerton). The cruel reality made Francis like to hide in the magical world in comics, and his head was filled with weird fantasies. His mother finally suffered a mental breakdown and was sent to a lunatic asylum. Unable to bear his father's violence, Francis left his hometown and went to Berlin to make a living. When he returned to his hometown again, he found that his mother had chosen to commit suicide. Because of a prank, Francis was sent to the reformatory, where he suffered inhuman treatment. It was his religious beliefs that supported him to continue living. After leaving the reformatory, Francis found a job in a slaughterhouse.
