In the 1940s, in Romania under the rule of fascist Germany, guerrillas and anti-fascist resistance groups continued to attack enemy docks, stations and bridges. The front line was tight, but the ruler could not find the captain to transport arms to the front. At this time, the resistance organization was troubled by the lack of weapons. In order to obtain a large amount of arms from the enemy, the underground party member Toma (played by Petrescu) mixed into the ranks of prisoners at the dock, hoping to board the ship transporting arms. The newly married captain Mihai (Frabier) is a patriot who hates evil, and his wife Anna (Giolay) is beautiful and kind. Toma was selected by Mihai to be a sailor, transporting arms to the front line. On the ship, they worked together to kill the German soldiers escorting the arms, eliminate the terrifying mines drifting on the Danube, and transport the weapons to the guerrillas. During the battle, Mihai unfortunately died. Before his death, he held Toma's hand and told her, "Anna is a good girl. You must take good care of her..."
