Heaven and Earth

A group of mainlanders from different regions and backgrounds came to Hong Kong with their own concerns after 1997. The plight of reality made them wander on the edge of the city, and they could only become abandoned residents of Hong Kong. The prosperity they saw was like a beautiful dream that they could not touch. Ah Ying (Wang Ning) is a prostitute holding a short-term passport. She is trapped in the memory of her boyfriend who could have been a People's Liberation Army stationed in Hong Kong but unfortunately died. She uses prostitution as a way to make quick money. Ayan (Lu Liping) used to be a dance teacher. A car accident caused her to lose her ability to dance and her son. After arriving in Hong Kong, she could only work as an elevator lady in a restaurant. The contrast between glory and misery made her lock herself up. Jian (Tony Leung Ka-fai) is A-yan's live-in boyfriend. He makes a living by running a pornographic video store. Life is just a dawdle for him, so being with A-yan is just to have someone to rely on in life. "Paigu Boy (Zhou Zhisheng)" is an elevator maintenance man who is silent and introverted. The boring life makes him addicted to radio call-in and pornographic venues. There is no other choice.
