Kingdom of Heaven

Most of the characters in "Kingdom of Heaven" are based on historical figures, and Professor Hamid Dabashi of Columbia University is the film's chief academic advisor. In France in the twelfth century, young blacksmith Mr Lyon (Orlando Bloom) inadvertently knew that he was the long-lost illegitimate son of Crusaders general Godfrey (Liam Neeson). Balian follows his father to Jerusalem in search of redemption. With bravery and good character, Balian became a famous warrior after several battles. Not only was he deeply appreciated by the king, but the beautiful princess Sibella (Eva Green) also secretly loved him. And he was deeply attracted by the strange and peculiar local culture. However, as the number of battles increased, bringing endless killing and plunder, Balian finally understood the true meaning of peace and the true love of life in his father's precepts. The king of Jerusalem died and a new king succeeded. The warlike new king started a war, and Saladin led the Saracen knights to regain their holy land, Jerusalem.
