Shadow of Paradise

Sanitation company garbage truck driver Nikard (Matti Pellonpää An old colleague (played by Nika) planned to raise funds to set up his own sanitation company and invited Nikard Technology to become a shareholder. However, the old colleague died of a sudden illness soon, and Nikard's life returned to a state of stagnant water. Nickard was unwilling to use alcohol to cause trouble, and met his future colleague Mikala while being detained. Mikala occasionally unwittingly prevents Nikkard from pursuing supermarket saleswoman Ilona (Kati Outinen) secretly, but he is still Nikkard's most reliable friend. Ilona steals the money box in revenge for the supermarket manager, and Nikkard helps her find a new job in a clothing store. The clothing store manager gets caught in the middle of Nikkard's relationship with Ilona, ​​but Nikkard finally regains his lover. The film won the 1987 Finnish Film Jusi Award for Best Film. It is the first part of director Aki Kaurismäki's proletarian trilogy.
