The Weather Forecaster

David (played by Nicolas Cage) is a weather forecaster, but he has no professional knowledge to use in his work. When the forecasted weather is not ideal, the audience will throw rubbish at him on the street. David feels gloomy about his life, and divorcing his wife (Hope Davis) is an even greater blow to him. Now he has an opportunity to go to New York to work again, but he has to face an unharmonious relationship with his children. His son Mike was sexually harassed by a counselor he met during drug rehabilitation; his daughter Xueli was ridiculed by her classmates for being obese and has a melancholic personality. What makes David even more sad is that his novelist father Robert (Michael Caine) suffers from a terminal illness. David hopes that his father can see his success. He even wants to reunite with his ex-wife and move his family to New York to live again. No matter how hard he tried, his relationship with his family did not ease.
