A-Ma is a City

The female junkyard operator Mei Xiaoou (played by Bai Baihe) has gone through many vicissitudes, dealing with gamblers of different origins in the gambling city of A-Ma (Macau), including real estate developer Duan Kaiwen (played by Wu Gang), artist Shi Qilan (played by Huang Jue), and political and business people from different classes. Even her ex-husband Lu Jintong (played by Geng Le), who had already fallen to the bottom, has been re-involved in her life. These people fight when they enter the casino and default on their debts when they leave the casino. The female junkie operator lives a life of lending and collecting debts. Gambling makes people lose their true nature. Dealing with junkets and gamblers is equivalent to dealing with the devil. Sometimes they are hypocritical and righteous, and sometimes they are cut off from each other. When gambling ends, who can find their true nature and who can be lucky?
