The Antonia Family

The story takes place after the end of World War II, when Antonia (Willeke van Ammelrooy) returns to her long-lost hometown with her daughter Daniele (Els Dottermans). Antonia's philanthropic and kind-hearted character brought new hope to the devastated homeland after the war. She successively took in the dementia girl Dai Dai (Marina de Graaf) and the farmer Bas (Jan Decleir) and others, forming a special family - the Antonia family. A warm and close relationship maintains these unrelated family members. Although they support each other, there are also conflicts that are difficult to reconcile. Daniele became pregnant and gave birth to Teresa (Veerle van Overloop). When little Teresa grew up, she was raped by Filip Peeters. As time went by, Antonia's family continued to grow, but Antonia's own life came to an end.
