Working People

The new film by French new director Antoine Husback is the first part of his social stage trilogy. It tells the story of an unemployed middle-aged uncle who cannot find a job and is gradually depressed to the point of wanting to commit suicide. He reaches the bottom of his depression. The script and overall narrative pacing are excellent, playing like a cross between Stephen Busey and the Dardenne brothers on a dramatic and thematic level.
