Barney's Life

The film is adapted from the 1997 biographical novel of the same name by Canadian writer Mordecai Richler. Actor Paul Giamatti won the 68th Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. Barney Panofsky (Paul Giamatti) is a television director and a hockey enthusiast. Drinking, smoking, and vulgar language were all shortcomings that followed him without exception. At the age of 65, he began to reflect on his life. He has met different women: his first wife Clara (Rachelle Lefevre) believes in free souls. The second Mrs. P (played by Minnie Driver) is a wealthy Jew. The third wife Miriam (Rosamund Pike) is beautiful and virtuous. The relationship between Paul and his father Issy (Dustin Hoffman) seems to lack a real family affection.
