The Axeman

The film is adapted from the Polish poet and writer Edward Stahura, who was born in France. Stachura; August 18, 1937 - July 24, 1979) published the 1971 novel Siekierezada albo zima leśnych ludzi. The sensitive young poet Janek can no longer accept the world of duplicitous people and hypocrisy, and can no longer find his place in the world. He longed to find a place that was fundamentally different from the world he knew to enrich his life, so he answered the forest service recruitment, put all his property in a bag on his back, and went to the deep mountains and forests to work as a temporary logger in winter. The air in the forest farm was fresh, and although the logging workers had different personalities, they were all frank and friendly unlike the people in the city. He quickly made friends with them. He also became more and more convinced that "apple branches will bloom both in the pure land and in the soul" (his philosophy of life). Although he would be awakened by nightmares of love trauma every night, he still hoped that he might find what he was looking for in this circle of simple workers, until something happened that changed his mind - an honest and amiable man.
