Save Cinema

Jonathan Pryce, Samantha Morton, and Tom Felton will star in the new film [Save The Cinema] (tentative translation). The film is directed by Sarah Sugarman ([The Prom Queen]) and Piers Ashworth wrote the script based on a story by Welsh writer Lorraine King. It tells the true story of Liz Evans, a hairdresser and manager of a youth theater in Carmarthen, Wales. She launched a campaign to save the Lyric Theater from closure in 1993, and together with then-Mayor of Carmarthen City Richard Goodrich (who was changed to a local councilor in the film), she enlisted the help of Steven Spielberg to secure the rights to host a special premiere of Jurassic Park. The film is currently filming in Wales.
