Afterimage

Władysław Strzemiński was a beloved university professor and well-known avant-garde painter. When Stalin proposed "socialist realism" and was regarded as a guideline by the Polish government and required to follow the example, he stood on the side of dissent. As a result, not only was he dismissed from his teaching position, deprived of his status as an artist, and even his right to survive was trampled on. And people who consider themselves small screws have become violent accomplices of the state machine.
