Marta

Marta (played by Margit Carstensen) lives a life of dependence on her father, who has a cold and rude personality. The two went to Rome to stay home, but on the way, his father died of a heart attack. Marta didn't feel too sad. On the contrary, she felt what freedom was for the first time. Later, Marta met an engineer named Helmut (Karlheinz Böhm), ​​and the two fell in love. However, Helmut's personality is exactly the same as Marta's father. He constantly insults and abuses Marta. Strangely, Marta seems to enjoy this abuse. Marta and Helmut entered the marriage hall hand in hand. After the marriage, Helmut's abuse of Marta was worse than before. In the end, Marta decided to elope with her colleague. Unexpectedly, a car accident not only claimed the life of her lover, but also caused Marta to lose her legs.
